Thread is primary meaning but for if you see this as a component of another kanji go with Spiderman as the mnemonic alias. However, in the cases where this primitive appears under other primitives, as opposed to on the left you can use a similar character: Venom. This helps keep the positioning clear, especially on such characters as 細 (#1463) and 累 (#1464).
