1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Kanji Kraken ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Kanji Kraken is a spaced-repetition platform for learning Japanese kanji. We offer free and paid tiers. Features and pricing may change; we will notify paying users of material changes.

3. Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• One account per person. Automated account creation is not allowed.

4. Payments & Subscriptions

• Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
• You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — email us.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of any mnemonics or notes you create. By submitting content you grant us a license to display it within the Service.

6. Prohibited Use

• Do not scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell the Service.
• Do not use the Service to distribute spam or malware.
• Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kanji Kraken's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email.
